MFi stands for 'Made For iPhone/iPod/iPad'. 

Each MFi cable contains an authorization chip issued by Apple to ensure the cable has perfect compatibility with all Apple devices that uses the Lightning connector. It means there will be no “This accessory is not compatible” pop-up on your Apple devices when you connect your cable.
